Planned Parenthood Official Argues for Right to Post-Birth Abortion

Alisa LaPolt Snow, a lobbyist representing the Florida Alliance of Planned Parenthood Affiliates, shocked Florida lawmakers earlier this week when she argued for a right to post-birth abortion, the Weekly Standard reported Friday.

Snow told legislators Wednesday that her organization believes the decision to kill a child who survives a failed abortion should be left up to the woman and her abortion provider.

The comments were made during a hearing on the “Infants born alive” bill introduced in the Florida legislature.

“So, um, it is just really hard for me to even ask you this question because I’m almost in disbelief,” State Rep. Jim Boyd said.

“If a baby is born on a table as a result of a botched abortion, what would Planned Parenthood want to have happen to that child that is struggling for life?” he asked.

“We believe that any decision that’s made should be left up to the woman, her family, and the physician,” Snow said.

“What happens in a situation where a baby is alive, breathing on a table, moving. What do your physicians do at that point?” asked Rep. Daniel Davis.

“I do not have that information,” she replied. “I am not a physician, I am not an abortion provider. So I do not have that information.”

Rep. Jose Oliva followed up on Davis’s question.

“You stated that a baby born alive on a table as a result of a botched abortion that that decision should be left to the doctor and the family. Is that what you’re saying?”

“That decision should be between the patient and the health care provider,” she said.

“I think that at that point the patient would be the child struggling on the table, wouldn’t you agree?” he asked.

“That’s a very good question. I really don’t know how to answer that,” Snow said in response. “I would be glad to have some more conversations with you about this.”

Snow explained that Planned Parenthood is concerned about the “surrender” and “transport” provisions in the proposed measure.

One representative asked, “What objection could you possibly have to obligate a doctor to transport a child born alive to a hospital where it seems to me they would be most likely to be able to survive?”

Snow said her organization is concerned about “those situations where it is in a rural health care setting, the hospital is 45 minutes or an hour away, that’s the closest trauma center or emergency room. You know there’s just some logistical issues involved that we have some concerns about.”

Planned Parenthood says the bill is “politically motivated and inflammatory language.”

“It inserts politics where it doesn’t belong by implying doctors and women who end a pregnancy can’t be trusted. Legislation should not be created with the intent of coercing, shaming, or judging a woman or doctor. It is important that abortion remain a safe and legal medical procedure for a woman to consider with her doctor, if and when she needs it,” Planned Parenthood added.

The bill passed the subcommittee with a 10-2 vote. One person missed the vote.

Jim Hoft of the Gateway Pundit said this was the same position held by Barack Obama in 2002.

Video of her comments can be seen here.

Last I checked “post-birth” means a live baby. Thus “post-birth abortion” is MURDER. This is an insidious, heinous crime! Click here to sign a petition against it. American taxpayer dollars MUST stop funding Planned Parenthood. -ToT

Saudi Judge: Few months in jail ‘suffices’ for imam who murdered his five year-old daughter after raping, torturing her

If you’d like a case study in where ‘tolerance’ leads, this is it. A Saudi preacher repeatedly raped and tortured his five year-old daughter before finally murdering her. The judge in the case said that blood money and time served (a few months) was sufficient punishment.
The ensuing backlash has sucked the Saudi Royal family into the case.
Via the UK Independent:

Fayhan al-Ghamdi was set to be released after agreeing to pay “blood money” to the mother of his daughter Lama, who suffered multiple injuries including a crushed skull, broken back, broken ribs, a broken left arm and extensive bruising and burns. Social workers say she had also been repeatedly raped and burnt.
Al-Ghamdi, who regularly appears on Saudi television, admitted using a cane and cables to inflict the injuries after doubting his five-year-old daughter’s virginity and taking her to a doctor, according to the campaign group Women to Drive.

Like Christopher Dorner, it appears that al-Ghamdi has defenders…

Despite the country’s notoriously strict legal system however, activists say the law protects fathers from being executed for murdering their children.
Rather than getting the death penalty or receiving a long prison sentence for the crime, Al-Ghamdi served only a few months in jail before a judge ruled the prosecution could only seek ‘blood money’.
Albawaba News reported the judge as saying: “Blood money and the time the defendant had served in prison since Lama’s death suffices as punishment.”

The misogynistic icing on the cake? The ‘blood money’ cited by the judge that al-Ghamdi was ordered to pay was only half the amount it would have been had his daughter been a son…

The £31,000 blood money Al-Ghamdi agreed to pay is considered compensation under Islamic law, although it is only half the amount that would have been paid had Lama been a boy.

The Saudi Royal family has seen fit to publicly assure people that al-Ghamdi will not be released.
Based on what Walid has discovered about the Royal Family’s public pronouncements about high ranking Saudi princes, we suggest that someone visit the jail regularly and ask to see al-Ghamdi behind bars.
If you’re not outraged over this you should be. This is a prime example of the absolute insanity of the Islamic obsession with virginity, which makes excuses for the abuse of girls and women (Muslim & non-Muslim alike) at that hands of Muslim men! -ToT View high resolution

Algerian Hostage: Kidnappers came and Murdered ‘in the name of Islam’

Every once in a while, the liberal media prints something that torpedoes all that it seems bent on defending. While the details of the attack on a gas plant in Algeria have been slow in coming, one of the hostages was quoted by the New York Times as saying the following:

One Algerian who managed to escape told France 24 television late Friday night that the kidnappers said, “We’ve come in the name of Islam, to teach the Americans what Islam is.” The haggard-looking man, interviewed at the airport in Algiers, said the kidnappers then immediately executed five hostages.

How often do Christian fundamentalists murder innocent hostages in the name of Christianity?

Before you leftists whip out the Timothy McVeigh card, he was an agnostic who believed in science as a religion (kinda like you leftists).

Try again, whack-os.

Teaching what Islam is

Pious British Muslima jailed for fatally beating 7-year-old son over Koran study

LONDON (AP) – A British judge on Monday sentenced a woman he called a “devoted and loving mother” to at least 17 years in prison for beating her son to death after he failed to memorize passages from the Koran.

A jury at Cardiff Crown Court in Wales convicted 33-year-old Sara Ege last month of murdering 7-year-old Yaseen and burning his body to destroy the evidence.

Judge Wyn Williams said Ege beat Yaseen repeatedly with a stick over several months, causing internal injuries.

He said that, on the day he died in 2010, Yaseen had been kept home from school to memorize verses from the Muslim holy book, and that his failure “was the trigger for the beating” that killed him.

Iranian Court Drops Charges Against Murderer: “If You Were Involved in Killing a Jew, You Did a Good Deed”

Islam in a nutshell.

(Algemeiner) A woman accused of being involved in the murder of a Jewish man in Iran reportedly had charges against her dropped after investigators said that “if you were involved in killing a Jew, you did a good deed,” Israel’s Channel 2 reported.

Daniel Magrufta, 24, the son of a wealthy Iranian businessman, was murdered last week. The report said that it was at first believed he was murdered during a robbery at his home, but no evidence of a break-in could be found.

The Jewish community believes the girl, who he was dating, and who is the daughter of a member of the Iranian Revolutionary Guards, was involved in his death.

The incident comes just over one month after a Jewish woman was murdered by Muslim extremists intent on demolishing her house to make room for the expansion of a mosque.

Current Iranian government statistics place 8,756 Jews in the country. In 2009, there were 25,000.

In recent years, Iranian Jews were largely left alone until now. Let’s hope this is not a new wave of persecution of Iran’s indigenous Jewish community. The history of Iran’s Jewish population dates back to the time of the Biblical Queen Esther during the Achaemenid Persian Empire (550-336 BCE).  -ToT

2013 Is Looking A Lot Like 2012: Islamic militants massacre five women teachers in protest at female education in Pakistan

Five female teachers in Pakistan have been slaughtered by Islamic militants bent on keeping women and girls away from education.

They were murdered in a New Year’s Day ambush on the van carrying them home from their jobs at a community centre and primary school in the north-west of the country.

Leaked Explosive Videos Reveal That The Syrian Revolution is Plain Evil

By Theodore Shoebat

We have gathered from Arab sources explosive and horrific videos captured by the Free Syrian Army and other Syrian rebels. While what we present is a fraction of what we have, the evidence will show that contrary to the praise of many in the West, the footage illustrates their wanton cruelty, and their absence of any sentiment for human suffering; masses gathered in lynching festivals, human beings chopped up like animals, executions without trials, all done under the shouts of Allahu Akbar. Masses are seen demonstrating with the same Islamist banners of al-Qaeda, and people are ritually slaughtered by the rebels. In this rough documentary, we complied the bulk of this footage to show to the West the savagery of these rebels, and the utterly dark future for not just Syria, but for the Near East as a whole if the Islamists dominate the region.

WATCH THE VIDEO.

These atrocities are continuous in Syria; but still a good amount of thinkers and politicians express their support for the rebels, and their want for U.S. intervention and aid.

But from the footage linked in this article, it is only obvious that the peace of the world will only be assaulted if the revolutionaries of Syria are given the aid and sympathies of the West. Such condoning and praise will only empower the rebels to keep fighting, increasing their confidence that their Islamic government will vanquish Syria.

The current policy against Syria has not sufficed for senators John Mccain, Joseph Lieberman, and Lindsey Graham, who together released a statement calling for military intervention, and weapons and ammunition supply for the rebels:

What opposition groups in Syria need most urgently is relief from Assad’s tank and artillery sieges in many cities that are still contested. Providing military assistance to the Free Syrian Army and other opposition groups is necessary, but as Assad continues to intensify his assault, that alone will not be sufficient to stop the slaughter and save innocent lives. The only realistic way to do so is with foreign airpower.

It would be only dangerous for the U.S. to lend support militarily to the Free Syrian Army; for this group is but an oppressor, kidnapping, torturing, and murdering any who are against their cause. The targets are counter-revolutionaries, Christians, Shia, Alawites, and government workers. But nevertheless, these three senators have been vocal with intense opinions on giving weaponry, ammunition, and air support, as they make clear in their own statement:

The ultimate goal of airstrikes should be to protect civilian population centers from Assad’s killing machine and establish safe havens in which opposition forces can organize, rest, refit, and plan their political and military activities against Assad. These safe havens could serve as platforms for the delivery of humanitarian and military assistance – including weapons and ammunition, body armor and other personal protective equipment, tactical intelligence, secure communications equipment, food and water, and medical supplies. These safe havens could also help the Free Syrian Army and other armed groups in Syria to train and organize themselves into more cohesive and effective military forces, likely with the assistance of foreign partners, and provide political space for the Syrian National Council to organize on Syrian soil.

If this plan is ever executed, then the U.S. would only be making the same mistake it did with Afghanistan: supplying weapons to rebels so that they may topple their current government. But, the plan is absent of any prudence, since it does not take into consideration what sort of government the rebels themselves would establish if they are victorious. It is also necessary to keep in mind that the leaders of the Syrian National Council (SNC), whom the quoted statement speaks positively of, have now went into exile. Therefore, it is irresponsible to place trust on the Free Syrian Army when the SNC, once a major funder for the revolution, are now an enemy of the rebels.

Moreover, the politicians who are in support of the Syrian revolution have not looked to the example of Egypt. The Egyptian revolution had obtained the praise of the mainstream media, and politicians such as Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama, who had saw the revolt as a cause for freedom and democracy. But once the people of Egypt were given the option of partaking in democratic elections, the majority had voted for Muhammad Mursi, thus having the Muslim Brotherhood take control of the nation. The revolution of Egypt is interconnected with the present revolt of Syria. Nizamaddin Taj, a former member of the Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK), made it quite clear in a recent interview:

The Muslim Brotherhood in Syria is the only party that can seize power after the collapse of Assad, but Israel, the U.S. and Europe are very worried about the Muslim Brotherhood of Syria and believe that they are different than the Muslim Brotherhood groups of Egypt and Tunisia.

The network between the Muslim Brotherhood and the rebels is clearly shown by the financial support, and the provisions of weapons and ammunition, which the former is giving the latter. But sadly, few in intellectual circles have realized that the revolution in Egypt is a foreshadowing of what will happen in Syria if the Assad regime is ousted.

Conservative talk show host Dennis Prager, as much as I agree with him on many issues, has mistakenly taken the side of the revolution, saying in one episode:

I cannot envision anything worse than the Assad family

But by watching the footage shown in the documentary, it is most obvious that there truly is something worse than Assad, and that is Islamic fundamentalism.

With all of the reports recently presented on Syria, the most lacking element is the truth on the Syrian rebels. The sympathy and praise for the revolutionaries is reminiscent to the high esteem which certain individuals had for the French Revolution in the Eighteenth Century. But when the nature of the rebels in Syria is finally revealed, hopefully many will realize the cruel and conquering spirit of these renegades, just as numerous persons were disturbed at the use of the guillotines by the revolutionaries in France, who had caused the deaths of hundreds of thousands of their own countrymen.

The misconception which has largely been subscribed to by our culture, is that dictatorship is automatically wrong, and thus deserves to be toppled; while a nation governed by the people is always a pure aspiration worthy of being fought for. But, this is certainly not the case for all nations. Governance at the hands of the people, is only safe if the bearers of power respect the spirit of liberty. While dictatorship is at times a necessary evil for a country where the people, at any given moment, may arise and shatter the rights of the individual, enforce collectivism, and rule by the might of the mob. Syria, at this time, is defending itself from an internal invasion by a multitude of violent and warlike bandits. Surely if the power of Bashar al-Assad, the current dictator of Syria, was toppled, the supposed totalitarianism of the government will be far surpassed by the rebels, who will rule purely by the creeds of the Koran.
